Overview

Located in the historic Little Hills areaCenterPointe Hospital serves adolescents, adults, and seniors who are struggling with behavioral health concerns. With 150 beds and a full continuum of care, we help our patients make sustained progress toward better health throughout their time at our serene, 20-acre main campus in St. Charles, Missouri. 

 

We are seeking a Full Time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our inpatient team.

 

Our levels of care are separated by age group:  

  • Adolescents (ages 12-17): Inpatient mental health treatment, detoxification, dual diagnosis treatment, residential treatment for substance use disorders 
  • Adults (age 18 and older): Inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP) for mental health disorders; detoxification; residential treatment for substance use disorders 
  • Senior adults (no age limit): Inpatient mental health stabilization, detoxification, and medication stabilization for dementia 

 

Overview:

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
